Sports Today (Late Games) 10/25/2014

Now for the rest of the games today:

College Football
#10 Northwest Missouri State at Fort Hays State
After last week homecoming thrashing to Pitt State the Bearcats will have to travel all the way across the state of Kansas to Fort Hays to play the one team who has beat Pitt State this year. In a year where no DII team is flawless I felt Northwest may have been the closest before last weekend. The Bearcats need to regroup this week because a second loss now would likely leave them outside of the DII playoffs since Region 3 has so many good teams (there will be several good teams that will not make the playoffs). I think last weeks loss will get this team refocused and look for Northwest to bounce back. Northwest 31 Fort Hays 13

#3 Ole Miss at #24 LSU
This was the national game that caught my eye, too bad this is a late game and will be going up against the World Series, as this should be a real good game. I think Ole Miss is the better team, but a night game in Death Valley is tough on any team and LSU while the 6th or 7th best team in the SEC West is still a darn good football team who can knock off any team, especially at home. LSU was blown out at home by Mississippi State and I don't think LSU will want to be swept at home by the Mississippi schools. My head is telling me LSU will pull off the upset, but my heart is pulling for Ole Miss and Mississippi State to both be unbeaten until they met on Nov 29th. I will go with my heart; Ole Miss 24 LSU 23 in a great college football game.

World Series Game 4
Kansas City at San Francisco
No matter who wins this game there will be a game on Sunday, however I don't think the Giants will want to go down 3-1. If the Royals win and go up 3-1 all they have to do is win one of the next 3 games, in which two will be in Kansas City, The Giants will have Bumgarner going in game 5 so while there are no guaranties the Giants will have the advantage. If the Giants win this game I think the series will go 7 games, if the Royals win I think they take it in 6 games.
This game is Vargas, who has looked very good in his two post season games and Vogelsong who had a good start against Washington and a bad start against St. Louis. Vargas has only allowed three runs in the post season all coming on solo homeruns. For Vargas to be good he needs to keep runners off the bases so when he gives up a long ball it has minimal damage. Vargas is going to go 5+ innings and give up 2 to 3 runs. The big question is can the Royals get to Vogelsong and get some runs and get to the Giants bullpen early. The Royals are swinging good bats right now and I don't expect that to change tonight.
I think this game will depend if Ned sticks with the same outfield as last night, which I think he will. If he does I see it being Kansas City 5 San Francisco 3 and the Royals will be one win away.
